Abstract

Introduction: Ocular/orbital tuberculosis is a clinical disease that occurs due to infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, also known as TB. It can infect a wide range of ocular tissues due to its ability to function in multiple forms of transmission. It is estimated that more than 1.7 billion individuals are currently affected by TB disease. Globally, the disease is the leading cause of death caused by a single infectious organism and is also the leading cause of mortality among individuals infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Objective: to know the clinical presentation of ocular tuberculosis. Clinical case: 35-year-old patient who presented with purulent discharge in the right eye for approximately 3 months, at the moment he reported localized pruritus in the same area. Conclusion: to know the clinical presentation of tuberculosis early in order to avoid future complications. This pathology continues to be one of the most important causes of mortality worldwide.
