Abstract

A study was carried out with the aim of knowing the current state of parental skills that parents of children with disabilities between six and seven years of age have. The research was carried out from a mixed approach, the Positive Parenting Scale (E2P vol.2) was applied to a sample of 35 representatives of children with different types of disabilities belonging to the Ibero-American Church of Christ in the San Vicente canton. The results obtained allowed to establish the existing relationships between the four bonding, formative, protective and reflective competencies evaluated through the applied scale, as well as the determination of the most frequent behaviors related to the competencies and roles of parents in relation to upbringing and contributions to the development of their children with disabilities.
