INTENSIVE CARE: CARE OF PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE ACUTE PANCREATITIS

The pancreas fulfills an important function within the digestive system, so it is not exempt from being able to suffer complications that alter its normal functioning. Among the complications is acute pancreatitis, which is caused by multiple factors including diabetes, obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, tobacco, among others. There are parameters that serve to classify the severity of temper, among which are APACHE II, Ranson, Atlanta International Consensus 2012, Balthazar, etc. Therefore, the present investigation aims to analyze the care of patients with acute pancreatitis evera treated in intensive care. The methodology used was based on a bibliographic design with documentary research. The results are based on the analysis of the characteristics of the pancreas, determination of severe acute pancreatitis and patients in intensive care due to complications of severe acute pancreatitis. In conclusion, the complications that allow patients with severe acute pancreatitis to be admitted to the ICU are due to surgery performed, so surgical treatment is recommended only when there is pancreatic necrosis, complications with internal effusion, or perforations; therefore, care within the ICU must be guided by a multidisciplinary team with knowledge in the area and efficient management of technological equipment.
